The stunning dark purple iris (Iris haynei – سوسن فقوعة) is found nowhere else in the world except for a small area in the hills of Palestine, particularly around the Gilboa mountain range. It's a symbol of the country's unique biodiversity and a reminder of the importance of conservation efforts to protect these special species. The fact that it's both endemic (found only there) and endangered makes it even more special and highlights the delicate balance of nature in the region.
